Your Plants on Arrival
Pond Packs - Good to Know
Do your Pond Packs Arrive Potted?
The 1ltr and 3ltr plants in our aquatic value packs arrive pre-planted in Finofil aquatic baskets, using aquatic compost and fertiliser, so they can be placed straight into your pond.
9cm plants arrive in solid pots and will need repotting into aquatic baskets before placing in the pond. We recommend 1ltr baskets for repotting. Aquatic baskets and soil can be found in our Essentials section.
What Size Are The Baskets and Will They Fit My Shelves?
Our 1ltr and 3ltr plants arrive in Finofil baskets designed to fit standard pond shelves:
1 litre - 11cm x 11cm x 11cm
3 litre - 18cm x 18cm x 16cm
9cm plants will need repotting into 1ltr baskets (or larger) before placing them on your shelves.
What Will I Receive in my Value Pack?
Each value pack is different, so please check the individual product page for full details of what is included - varieties, number of plants and pot size.
Our trusted growers select the strongest and best-looking plants at the time of packing. Varieties may vary depending on seasonal availability. During low season, it is sometimes possible to receive two of the same variety, although we always try to include different options where stock allows.
Oxygenator Value Packs contain potted oxygenators only - no bunched oxygenators are included.
Each plant will arrive with an individual care label.
How do I plant my new pond plants?
Depth varies depending on the plant variety. This information is shown on the product page and on the care label supplied with your plants.
As a guide:
Depth is measured from the top of the basket to the water’s surface.
Marginals sit in shallower water on your pond shelves.
Potted Oxygenators, Deep-water plants and Waterlilies sit deeper, with leaves kept on the surface.
Do 9cm plants need repotting?
Yes. 9cm plants will need repotting into aquatic baskets before placing in the pond. We recommend using 1ltr baskets or larger filled with aquatic compost. You can find these in our Essentials section.
Can I pre-order value packs?
Yes, you can pre-order value packs. Payment is taken at checkout to reserve your plants. For full details, please see our Pre-Order Information page.
Pre-order Information
What is a Pre-Order?
Pre-ordering allows you to reserve pond plants that are still growing and not yet ready to dispatch. Payment is taken immediately at checkout - this helps avoid any issues with expired cards or failed payments when the plants are ready to leave the nursery. All our plants are grown in unheated UK greenhouses and are only dispatched once they’ve developed a strong root system and are safe to travel.
When Will My Pre-Order Arrive?
Each product page includes an estimated ‘Normally Available From’ date. This is a seasonal guide and may shift slightly depending on weather conditions and the plant’s growth rate. We send out plants once they are strong and well-rooted. They may arrive before coming fully into leaf or flower. We aim to dispatch plants as soon as they are strong enough to travel, as they establish better and handle the journey more safely when not in full growth.
Mixed Orders: Ready-to-Ship and Pre-Order Plants
If you order both ready-to-ship plants and pre-order plants in the same order, the entire order will be held until all plants are ready. You’ll have seen a notification about this at checkout, with a suggestion to place two separate orders if you need any items sooner.
Multiple Pre-Order Plants
If your order contains several pre-order plants, we will dispatch everything together once all items are ready. This helps ensure safe delivery and healthy establishment.
Going on Holiday?
Pre-ordered pond plants can be released at any time after ordering. We check nursery stock weekly and once all items in your order are ready, they’re added to a dispatch list. We don’t have a system to notify you when your order moves to this list - you’ll only receive an update when the plants are dispatched.
If you're going away and need to avoid delivery during certain dates, please email us with your PFP order number and let us know your unavailable dates. We’ll flag your order accordingly and hold it until you're back and ready to receive it.
Desperate for Some Plants? What Can I Do?
If you need plants urgently, then please contact us. We are able to split your order and send what's ready now (an additional delivery charge applies), or offer swaps for similar plants that are available sooner.
Please email us with your PFP order number and we’ll do our best to help.
Please note: pond plants need time to be picked, drained and packed. We’re not able to split and send orders the same day.
Need an Update?
You’re always welcome to email us at any time for an update on your order.

No. Live plants require draining and careful preparation. The nurseries dispatch in scheduled batches rather than on-demand. This means same-day dispatch isn’t possible, but we always aim to send your order as promptly as we can within our dispatch schedule.

Delivery and Couriers
We use trusted UK couriers:
APC and Royal Mail for pond plants
DX for garden plants
Pallet deliveries for 30ltr waterlilies, large landscape orders and container ponds
Delivery Times
APC and DX orders are sent on overnight services but may take up to 48 hours depending on your local depot.
Royal Mail parcels usually arrive within 24–48 hours.
Plants are packed in damp soil and remain safe in transit for several days.
Tracking and Safe Place Instructions
Your dispatch email will contain tracking information where applicable.
Couriers are instructed to leave parcels in a safe place with no signature required. You can add your own delivery notes using the links below. We recommend requesting a cool, shaded spot so the plants stay fresh on arrival.
APC - https://apcchoice.apc-overnight.com/
Royal Mail - will use your email and mobile number provided during ordering to send delivery updates and enable you to add safe-place instructions.
Please do not delay delivery of live plants.
Royal Mail will never ask you to make an additional payment for a delivery. If you receive a message requesting payment, please delete it and do not click any links. If you are unsure whether a message is genuine, email us and we’ll be happy to advise
Damages & Returns
If your order arrives damaged, please take photos of the packaging and plants and email us with your PFP order number.
Due to bio-security and the perishable nature of plants, we cannot accept returns of plants or molluscs.
Container ponds are handmade to order and non-returnable unless damaged.
