Adderwort (Persicaria bistorta)
Native and wildlife friendly, this blush pink Persicaria is taller than Persicaria amphibia. It produces similar bottle brush flower heads that are held stifly upright above dense olive green foliage. The oblong leaves can be up to 30cm long and form great cover for emerging wildlife from your pond. Best planted in a shady, sheltered position, although will happily tolerate full sun if there is sufficient moisture available. Also known as Bistort, Red Legs or Snakeweed.

Specific Plant Care:
Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy. Propagate by seed or divide in spring or autumn.
General Marginal Care:
All our 1 ltr and 3 ltr plants come potted in Finofil aquatic baskets with aquatic compost. They can be placed straight into your pond, on a marginal shelf at the required depth (use bricks to change the depth if required).
The mesh pot allows nutrients and oxygen from the pond to flow through the pot without any soil loss.
Our 9cm plants come in a solid pots, so will need to be repotted.
Each plant also comes with a comprehensive label offering further planting advice.
