Alba Water lily (Nymphaea Alba)
Crisp white fragrant semi-double flowers, with yellow stamens sit above dark green foliage, this is Britain's only native water lily, commonly found in lakes and very slow moving water. The Alba lily is best grown at depths of 1 metre.

This common white water lily has a large spread so is best suited to larger ponds and lakes, if space permits Alba can spread up to 3m.  Its broad rounded leaves form a great shady habitat for wildlife below the surface.
