How to Grow
Growing Instructions: Plant in light, well-drained soil at ground level—perfect for sunny borders, gravel paths, raised beds or dry areas around your pond (not in waterlogged ground).
Position in full sun for best flowering and colour. Water moderately during dry spells in the first season until established, then reduce watering.
Space plants 30–40cm apart to create a natural, spreading form.
Growing Tips: Rhodanthemum prefer dry, sunny conditions and dislike overly rich or damp soil. Improve drainage with grit or sand in heavier ground.
Avoid heavy feeding; these plants do best in leaner soils. A light mulch of gravel helps reflect heat and keep foliage dry.
Deadheading encourages more blooms and maintains a tidy look.
Care & Maintenance
Pruning: Trim back faded flowers regularly to encourage continued blooming. After flowering, lightly cut back to maintain the plant’s soft mound shape and keep it compact.
Pests/Diseases: Generally pest- and disease-free. Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot, especially over winter. Drought-tolerant once established and not attractive to slugs or rabbits.
