How to Grow

Growing Instructions: Plant in well-drained soil at ground level, ideal for sunny borders, containers and the drier, well-drained areas around your pond (not in the water).
Position in full sun to encourage compact growth and repeat flowering. Water regularly during dry spells in the first season to help plants settle in.
Space 30–40cm apart for airflow and a natural, clump-forming habit.

Growing Tips: Dianthus prefer not to sit in damp soil, so improve drainage with added grit in heavier soils.
Avoid overfeeding, too much nitrogen can reduce flowering. A light mulch of gravel helps suppress weeds and keeps foliage dry.
Remove spent blooms regularly to encourage more flowers throughout the season.

Care & Maintenance

Pruning: Deadhead faded flowers frequently to prolong blooming. After flowering, lightly trim back to maintain shape and encourage a neat, dense habit into the next season.

Pests/Diseases: Generally easy to care for, but may occasionally attract aphids or suffer from crown rot in poorly drained soils. Ensure good drainage and air circulation to prevent issues. Loved by pollinators and typically ignored by pests like deer and rabbits.

Ordering, Shipping & Returns

What is a Pre-Order?

Pre-ordering reserves a plant that is still growing and not yet ready to ship. Payment is taken at checkout to secure your plant, and shipping happens once the plant is well-rooted and ready.

Ordering Tip!

Many customers prefer to place two separate orders when ordering early in the season.

  1. One for plants available now.
  2. One for pre-order plants.

This ensures there are no delays, and you can enjoy your ready now plants sooner.
