Bring year-round beauty to your garden with the HGC® Snow Roses® Collection - a standout group of hardy hellebores bred for strength, elegance and an exceptionally long flowering season. These evergreen perennials burst into bloom from early December to late March, with large, upright flowers in soft shades of white, cream, and pink. They’re perfect for adding winter colour around your pondside borders, shaded corners, or in containers near the house.

Unlike many winter-flowering plants, Snow Roses don’t mind a bit of sunshine and will happily thrive in sun or light shade. Their vigorous, upright habit and glossy green foliage make them a striking addition to gardens through all seasons. Snow Roses are low-maintenance, resilient and ideal for containers, borders or natural-style planting schemes.

Choose from five stunning varieties or a mixed pack – each sold as a pack of 3 x 2 litre potted plants:

- Frosty – A vigorous variety with large, creamy white flowers and strong upright growth. Elegant as a single specimen or in mixed borders - available from January.

- Ice Breaker® Ruby – Floriferous and early-flowering, with soft speckled pink blooms from November onwards. A tough, reliable choice for any spot - available from November.

- Shooting Star® – Creamy rose flowers with golden stamens appear just in time for Christmas. A festive and prolific variety, perfect for grouped planting - available from January.

- Monte Christo® – A silvery standout with blue-tinged foliage and cream blooms tinged with green and blush pink. Great for pairing with grasses and conifers - available from December.

- Snow Dance® – Charming cream to pale pink flowers with attractive marbled evergreen leaves. A decorative, easy-going variety for borders and pots - available from November.

Mixed Pack – A grower’s choice trio from the collection, perfect if you’d like a mix of tones and textures to brighten your winter garden - available from November to January.

How to Grow

Growing Instructions: Plant in moist, well-drained soil in partial to full shade, ideal for borders or containers positioned near the pond. Space plants approximately 3–5 per square metre for 2ltr pots to allow good airflow and healthy growth. These hellebores are long-lived and will settle in best when planted where they can spread slowly over time.

Growing Tips: Choose a position in full sun to partial shade, ideally near deciduous trees that offer light shade in summer. Snow Roses are robust and fast-growing, so allow space for them to spread. Avoid planting in waterlogged areas. Cut back old leaves in early spring to reveal new blooms and maintain tidy growth.

Care & Maintenance

Pruning: Remove faded flowers and old leaves in late winter or early spring to tidy the plant and reduce the risk of disease. This also encourages new foliage and flower growth the following season.

Pests/Diseases: Generally trouble-free. Watch for aphids, vine weevils, and black spot on older leaves. Frogs and toads often found near ponds help manage pests like slugs naturally. Keeping the area clean and spacing plants well will help reduce fungal problems.

Ordering, Shipping & Returns

What is a Pre-Order?

Pre-ordering reserves a plant that is still growing and not yet ready to ship. Payment is taken at checkout to secure your plant, and shipping happens once the plant is well-rooted and ready.

Ordering Tip!

Many customers prefer to place two separate orders when ordering early in the season.

  1. One for plants available now.
  2. One for pre-order plants.

This ensures there are no delays, and you can enjoy your ready now plants sooner.
